Man killed, 6 injured in firecrackers explosion in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru

A man was killed and six others were injured when a sack of hand-made firecrackers exploded on Thursday in Andhra Pradesh’s Eluru.
The explosion occurred when a sack of onion bombs, being transported on a Honda Activa scooter, detonated after the vehicle hit a pothole on East Street, causing the firecrackers to shift and trigger a blast.
The man, Sudhakar, seated on the back of the scooter, suffered fatal injuries with severe burns. The injured have been identified as Tabelu Sai, Suvara Shashi, K Srinivasa Rao, SK Khadar, Suresh, and Satish.
Police officials, including Eluru DSP Shravan Kumar, One-Town CI Satyanarayana, and SI Madina Basha, rushed to the spot and transported the injured to Eluru Government Hospital.
The explosion has left a sombre mood in the area, with locals gathering at the site to witness the aftermath of the tragic event.
