easy to cut and it does stay put...just make sure it its flush or a little smaller than your AC top...otherwise strong wind from below can lift it. As for sound, it does work, but you can still hear it (muffled).

It is a simple product that does exactly what it is supposed to do - stop noise from water hitting the AC. You need a knife or scissors to cut it to fit it to your AC, but that it to be expected.

This definitely alleviated the loud sound of drops from the A/C unit above me .It is very large, so I cut it into 3 pieces.The water still splatters around though.
