Rishi Sunak picked Silverstone race course as the location to unveil his Conservative Party manifesto – the pitch on which he hopes to win re-election. 
It contained £17 billion worth of tax cuts as well as measures aimed at helping people get onto the housing ladder and moves to try to reduce immigration numbers. 
There are few known moments remaining between now and the general election on July 4 to somehow turn around the polls and start eating into Labour’s lead.
